Clear high-heel pumps and high-heel sandals are a perfect accessory to wear with any Sexy Mermaid Costume. Since they are see-through, they give the illusion of a barefoot mermaid who has magically grown legs to walk along the shore.
When dressing in a mermaid outfit, especially during chilly nights such as Halloween, it is warmer wearing transparent shoes or sandals instead of actually wearing barefoot sandals! Barefoot sandals are fabulous for summer themed pool or beach parties. However, they are not for cosplay or Halloween events.
A word to the wise . . . Always be sure to have a pedicure before wearing clear shoes, open-toe shoes, or barefoot sandals! You want your feet to look their fresh out of the ocean best.

Steve Madden Women’s Clearer Transparent Lucite Heel Dress Sandal
First, I have to say I have not worn these shoes as I am more comfortable in lower heels. I am featuring them because I think they will look awesome with mermaid costumes for the women who do like wearing higher heels.
There seems to be some controversy over the fit of the shoe from Amazon reviewers. Some women love them and say they are true to size. Others say to order a size up as they run small. Still, others say they run large. It’s got me boggled! So, I guess it is fair to say, you will be taking a chance on the size when ordering. The good thing is, some of the sizes (not all) are on Amazon Prime. If you are a Prime member, return shipping is easy-peasy as is reordering to a size that fits.
If your size is NOT a Prime membership size, I recommend contacting the vendor about their return policy prior to ordering. I have done this myself in the past. In my experience, if the vendor guarantees they take returns and will pay the return shipping if it doesn’t fit, only then will I order their product. If they do not, I move on to a different product. I hope that helps.
If you are uncomfortable walking in 5″ heels, these clear sandals are lower in heel-height and will be much more comfortable for you. They are still high-heels but not as high. You’ll appreciate them if you are going to be on your feet for hours and aren’t use to wearing really high-heels.
As comfortable as they are beautiful on your bare feet, you’ll look as if you just walked onto land from the ocean. The see-through straps will give the illusion of a barefoot mermaid. The rhinestones will sparkle like droplets of sunlit ocean spray still clinging to your skin.

When attending a casual mermaid themed event at the beach or pool side, the easiest footwear attire is a pair of elegant looking flip flops. Detailed with flowers, rhinestones, and pearls, you can’t go wrong with any casual mermaid outfit. They are easy to slip off when you feel the need to dive right into the water wearing only your mermaid tail.
As I am sure you already know, if you have visited this site more than once, I am from Hawaii. In Hawaii, we prefer wearing flip flops but we call them slippers. We don’t wear house slippers like people do in the mainland when it gets cold. It doesn’t get cold enough in most of the islands to warrant inside slippers. Plus, it is rude to wear any footwear inside the house. It is our tradition to remove all footwear before entering someone’s home. So, slippers are flip flops, worn outdoors and prefered by us local people.
With all of that being said, many people from the mainland can’t seem to get the hang of wearing slippers. For some odd reason, they try to grip the sole of the slippers with their toes instead of just walking normally. Thus, they prefer sandals with back straps to hold the sandals on their feet.
