I searched through literally hundreds of Captain American masks and helmets, most of which were just kids plastic toy masks, and I wouldn’t buy them even for a kid. Seriously. Anyway, I narrowed my search down to the few replicated Captain America aka Steven Rogers helmet masks we are featuring here. They are sorted from his first film to his most recent film. The first masks are from the film The Avengers to accomodate the costumes from the film.
Adult Captain America: The Avengers
Full Face Mask
Made in Japan as a cosplay prop by Ogawa Studios, this full-face rubber mask is full latex and is made to fit an adults head. It has velcro closures to help secure a close fit.
Men’s Captain America: The Avengers
Helmet Costume Mask
Made for an adult but I feel it is more of a kids toy as the chin stap is plastic as is the helmet mask. The “A” is raised as it is molded, however, it is not as distinct as the “A” letter on the 1st mask we featured.
The Best Captain America Steven Rogers
Avengers Mask Prop
Superb craftsmanship went into the construction of this Avengers face mask. The molded PVC is highly detailed with a raised letter “A” on the forehead. The adjustable chin strap is nylon webbed strapping.

Captain America Helmet
A Captain America Steve Rogers The Winter Soldier metal star badge insignia is the perfect accessory for the DIYer who is making his own costume. It is made of a silver tone metal. Use it on any garment or fabric you want. It doesn’t have to be put on a costume. It can be attached to a backpack, a hoodie, or a leather jacket if you like.
Captain America aka Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wore several different types of either gauntlets or gloves in his films. I have found a nice selection of each. Some of the gloves were made as costume accessories and others I had to match as close as possible to what I saw in the films. Most of the gloves that I found licensed by Marvel were pretty cheap pieces of crap. I think my substitutions are a better quality and in some cases less expensive than the cheap replicas.
I recommend wearing a pair of red gaunlet gloves with the Captain America Avengers costumes featured on my Captain America Deluxe Men Costumes page. Both pairs of red gaunlets are genuine leather dyed red and are sure to be exactly what you need to perfect your Avengers Captain America costume. One pair (on the right) is sheep skin leather which tends to be softer than cow hide and the gloves are unlined so they won’t be too hot to wear with a cosplay costume during the summer months.

Captain America: Civil War
I am featuring two different styles of fingerless gloves to use as higher-quality alternatives to the vinyl gloves included with the Civil War Captain America Costumes. The gloves featured above are military grade fingerless gloves and look very similar to the military gloves worn by Captain America in some of his Civil War scenes.
I actually like these gloves better than the second row as I think they look more realistic like the ones worn by Steve Rogers in the film. Probably because they are actual military grade gloves made of leather and nylon for better hand and knuckle protection.
The gloves featured below are genuine leather fingerless gloves, also similar to gloves worn by Steve Rogers in other scenes of the Captain America: Civil War film.
The gloves I am featuring above are unlined leather riding gloves. Leather is always good for hand protection, and these gloves look great but they don’t offer as much protection of the hands or have as good a look as the military grade gloves. Of course, it is always personal preferance for what you prefer to wear.

If you are a semi-homemade costumer like myself you may only need accessories for a costume you made at home, or perhaps you don’t like the flimsy vinyl utility belt that came with an off-the-rack costume and you want to replace it. I have found several different belts with pouches to use as Captain America costume accessories. The small details like this belt will help to add authenticity to a costume.
Years ago, I did my own leatherwork for simple pieces I needed, such as this belt, but I don’t work my own leather anymore. If you’ve ever wanted to learn, a belt is a great first leather project. When I was first starting out, a belt was my first project. Learn how to make a leather belt from the LeatherWorks: Traditional Craft for Modern Living. In addition, Amazon has a really good selection of beginner leather craft books.
Captain America Adjustable Faux Leather Belt

I’m including this accessory set mostly because of the PU leather belt and the harness. They look fairly decent for costume accessories. Also included is a pair of leg guards, and a pair of thin vinyl gloves. I would pitch the gloves and purchase a decent pair instead.

Of all the many different shields I looked at on many different costume sites I am recommending the shields made by Gmasking. They seem to be the highest quality in costume prop shields. All of the shields featured above are made by the Gmasking company and are high-quality durable costume props. Now, all you have to do is decide which one you like the best. I would match the shield to the costume you have chosen to wear.

The pieces signed by Stan Lee have been selling rather quickly since his death and I don’t know how much longer they will be available. Stan Lee, in my opinion, was the greatest comic book creator to have ever lived. Owning one of these Captain America shields with his signature is an investment any Marvel comic fan will treasure for years.
