Women Cinco de Mayo Feista Costumes & Accessories
Festive women Cinco de Mayo costumes to celebrate the Mexican 5th of May. We celebrate the Mexican Cinco de Mayo holiday in the USA to celebrate the victory of the Mexican militia over the invading French army during the 5 May 1862 Battle of Puebla. This battle was led by the renowned Ignacio Zaragonza Soguin. Or is it just another way to have fun as we welcome in the summer? Whatever your reason may be, my family has been celebrating it since 1968. Ever since my 1st trip to Mexico where I fell in love with the Mexican culture and the Mexican people. Ole!
Cinco de Mayo is often mistaken as the holiday for Mexican Independence, but it is not. Mexican Independence Day, Grito de Dolores, is the 16th of September. Incidentally, the only place in Mexico where Cinco de Mayo is celebrated is in the city of Puebla, where the battle took place.
With that in mind, it is as good an excuse as any to have fun Mexican style! Play Mexican music, eat delicious Mexican food, and drink Mexican beer or Patron Tequila Grand Marnier Margaritas! So, put on your Mexican costume, hang a piñata, make some salsa, fry some tortillas, mash some avocados, refry some pinto beans, shake it up with a pair of maracas, and set up the blender to whip up delicious frozen margaritas! Me? I’ll have mine on the rocks, please.
Have a look at some beautifully embroidered dresses and blouses from Mexico that you can wear to participate in this fun Mexican-American celebration. The great thing about the señoritas and senora clothing is you can wear them any time of the year! Not just on Cinco de Mayo. I know I do. I love their clothing and have for years. They are as comfortable as they are gorgeous! I am also including fun señoritas costumes you can dress up in.
The costumes featured on this page are not meant to be racist or to profile the beautiful people of Mexico whom I so adore. These costumes are meant to wear for fun at Cinco de Mayo parties and to look like a gorgeous señorita or señora any day of the year. The higher-quality Mexican style costumes are meant for theater productions and/or streetwear.

Mexican fiesta dress costumes are so beautiful! These so-called peasant costumes are handmade blouses and skirts made in brilliant colors with colorful ribbons, lace or handcrafted floral embroidery. Wear them as costumes for Mexican holiday parties or wear them every day as regular street clothing like I still do. It doesn’t matter if I am in Hawaii or New York or Mexico, I love wearing Mexican skirts and tops. They are as comfortable as they are beautiful!

Wear the Frida Kahlo outfit on Cinco de Mayo as a Mexican señorita to a fun party celebration. Then become the famous Mexican artist again for Halloween or Dia de Los Muertos. Included with the set are two hair clip bows. I recommend replacing the bows with a headband covered with artificial flowers. I found several I’m featuring next.
Frida Kahlo Floral Headbands
Click the red radio button under each flower headband to see even more ideas to choose from. Don’t you think these headbands are so much better than the clip bows? I do. Almost everyone of Freida’s self portraits show a row of flowers pinned on top of her braids.
Women’s Affordable Lace Flower Festival Party
A very inexpensive, afforadable costume which will work well as a Frida Kahlo costume for any festive costume party. Add a hand embroidered belt, a pair of huarache sandals, and a floral headband to complete the look. It is a cheap price for a costume, so please don’t expect it to last for more than one event.
Handmade Traditional Colorful Floral Mexican Belt Accessories
Most of the Mexican Fiesta Dress Costumes do not include a belt or a sash. A hand embroidered flower designed belt will add color, fun, and authenticity to the costume. These handmade belts are a gorgeous addition you will treasure. Each belt is unique. Because they are handmade, no two will be exactly alike.
Handmade Hand Embroidered Traditional Fiesta
Floral Tie Belts
These belts do NOT come as a set of 6. Each belt can be purchased individually. They are purchased by the color of the sash fabric at a bargain price.
Traditional Handmade Colorful Red Floral Mexican Belt Sash Tie
The belts featured above are handmade but they are not hand embroidered. They are machine embroidered. Never the less, they are still beautiful festive Mexican belts made by hand in a Mexican factory.
Please Note: Contrary to popular belief, the factory is not a sweatshop. The women and men employed at the factory make a decent wage which is comparable to the lower cost of living in Mexico.
Traditional Embroidered Short Mexican Dresses
Mexican dresses are simple styles in bright colors with beautiful hand embroidery. They are cool and comfortable on hot summer days. Wear them loose or cinch at the waist with a belt or sash.
Adult Embroidered Mexican Puebla Tunic Dresses
Handmade, hand dyed, and hand embroidered in Puebla, and because they are hand embroidered, no two will be exactly alike. A total of 20 different vibrant colors are available. I always wash in cold water on a gentle cycle with the first washing to set the dye colors. They are 100% cotton so can take a lot of wear and tear after that first cold water washing. I do prefer hanging to dry rather than the drier because of all the hand embroidery.
Adult Embroidered Mexican Tehuacan Tunic Dresses

Women’s Traditional Mexican Puebla Blouses
Hand embroidered in Puebla, Mexico where it all began! These tops are a loose comfortable fit. I usually wear a medium as I am rather busty for my petite height and frame. In these campesina tops, I wear a small. They are a boxy cut and there isn’t any elastic in the sleeves. They are loose fitting so they hide the extra weight I gained over the winter. They are perfect to wear in hot humid weather!

Women’s Mexican Fiesta Off-Shoulder Blouses
Nothing can be more festive than wearing a cool summer off-shoulder Mexican blouse with a full festive Mexican skirt to a Cinco de Mayo party. Matching the top with a skirt makes a beautiful traditional Mexican fiesta dress which is perfect for Cinco de Mayo or celebrating any Mexican holiday event. The tops are elastic making it possible to wear on or off the shoulders. I think they look cuter and sexier when worn off the shoulders!
Women’s Mexican Fiesta Off-Shoulder Lycra Blouse
The fabric of these off-shoulder tops is a stretchy lycra material which will hug at the waistline. They are supposed to be a one-size-fits-all but they are better suited to a Small/Medium size. It will be too tight around the waist on larger than average women.
Beautiful Embroidered Crochet Off-Shoulder Mexican Cotton Gauze Tops
Off-shoulder cotton gauze Mexican tops will wash well and last a long time. They are a good value for the price! I recommend washing on a cold water/gentle cycle and removing from the drier while still a bit damp to hang.
The beautiful blouses are a hand embroidered floral design with a ribbon accent trim and crochet edging. They are available in 6 different colors. I am displaying 3 of the 6 colors available.
Traditional Belted Mexican Shirts

A sash is included with each of these embroidered traditional festival shirts. The photos show a sash in the colors of the Mexican flag, however, the sash you receive maybe in a different color scheme. You can message the vendor to find out what colors they will be sending you. The shirts are available in 8 colors in both average and plus sizes. I am featuring just 2 of the 8 colors; off-white and golden yellow.

Put a Cinco de Mayo outfit together with a traditional handmade Mexican top from the blouses featured above and a Mexican skirt from the skirts I am featuring below. Add a bright floral embroidered belt, a fringed shawl, and a pair of sandals. Remember to pin a few colorful flowers in your hair. Fresh flowers are always preferred, but artificial will look just as awesome when fresh flowers aren’t available. A good thing about artificial is they won’t wilt if planning a long day of celebrating.

Sexy Señorita Mexican Costumes
A sexy senorita costume can be worn to Cinco de Mayo parties, Halloween parties, Birthday parties, Mardi Gras costume events, as a bartender or cocktail waitress, and to any other costume event you can think of.
Women’s Tequila Princess Costume
So adorable! This costume is VERY affordable so I don’t expect it to be of the best quality. I think the skirt is going to be extremely short so I recommend wearing a pair of boy shorts under the skirt. I would also wear a very short tutu to give it some fullness or it will hang limp. You must click the link to this costume if just to read the short legend of the Salt King and Lime Queen! So inventive! Included are the dress, the neck scar, the mini-fascinator sombrero, and the vegan faux leather bottle holster belt. The red platform heels are not included but may be purchased separately below.

Women’s Tequila Shooter Costume
Whoot! Dudette! Talk about a two-fisted drinker. This costume is a perfect match for a tequila shooting Cinco de Mayo celebration. Imagine having two liquor-holding holsters instead of just one. I recommend wearing a pair of boy shorts along with a short tutu crinoline to fluff out the skirt while remaining discreet.
This cute Women’s Tequila Shooter costume includes the dress, a serape print sash, and the faux leather belt with holsters. The Sambero, bottles, shot glasses, and boots are NOT included but may be purchased separately. If you already have a collection of shot glasses in your cupboard, use them in the holster. If you don’t…Road Trip! Head out to the local Thrift Store in search of shot glasses and remember to make a pit stop at the liquor store for your tequila bottles!
Sexy Lady Tequila Shooter Costumes
This is such a fun costume to wear for Cinco de Mayo! The dress is a serape printed fabric mini dress with red pom-pom trim on the hem. The costume belt features four loops for shot glasses and a bottle holster. The plastic shot glasses ARE included with this costume! Ole!
Can you imagine the fun you will have when serving your guest shots of tequila wearing this costume? The sombrero is also included to finish off the Mexican flavor of this women’s Cinco de Mayo costume. The red shoes are NOT included, but the red sandals featured above will look awesome with this little green dress.
I don’t want you to get your hopes up with this cute dress. As cute as the model looks, it is NOT a high-quality costume, but it is a fun one. You can imagine how amazed I was when it sold out from many different vendors several times. It sold so well they double the price when it gets close to Halloween. You will have to decide if it is worth it to you for a costume that might last maybe for one wear only.
Sexy Señorita Cinco de Mayo Party Costumes
Women’s Funny Piñata Costume Dress
The jury is still out there for me when it comes to this Funny Piñata Costume. An excellent, well made costume will cost 3 to 4 times more than this one but do I really want to spend what the vendor is asking for this costume? What it comes down to is this. Do I really want to look or dress like a Mexican punching bag? Which, by the way, is all a piñata really is. Hit the papier-mâché piñata with a stick until it rips open and out comes the toys and the candy. I don’t know. Maybe it can be great for laughs if you carry a bottle of tequilla and a shot glass in your pockets. “Don’t smack me with a stick and I’ll give you a shot,” kind of thing.
Sexy Cantina Señorita Costumes
From a modern-day sexy server costume to past days of the old wild west cantina girls in Mexico. You will turn every head in the place wearing any one of these sexy barmaid costumes. No one will be able to take their eyes off you!
Sexy Señorita 2-Piece Serape Costume

Women’s Red Distressed Cowgirl Boots
Señorita Ride ‘Em Cowgirl Western Cantina
Included with this western cowgirl cantina costume are an 8-spiral steel bones and 4-static bones brown faux suede underbust corset, removable garters, a white ie-in-front peasant top, a removable black faux leather belt, a black cowgirl hat, a red neckerchief bandana, and a pair of black sateen fringe gloves. Pretty much everything you need for the costume.
The net stockings and the shoes are not included. I think cowgirl boots are an alternative that will look as fabulous with this costume as the open-toed high heels.
If you have blonde hair like me, you might want to wear a black wig instead. It would be awesome but not entirely necessary.

Women Mariachi Costumes
Very seldom will you see a women Mariachi musician, so just keep in mind that these costumes are all about having fun and looking sexy at a Cinco de Mayo party. They are not about being realistic.
Women’s Sexy Mariachi Costume
Women’s Spanish Señorita Costumes
Spanish fleminco dancer costumes are not Mexican. They are Spanish in origin. However, I don’t think it really matters when you are attending a fun costume party. Dress as you like in an authentic Mexican costume, a fun drinking costume, or as a Spanish Señorita.

Women’s Spanish Señorita Dancer Costume
Included with this Spanish señorita dancer costume is the dress, a thin black lace shawl, and the black choker. The wig, the hair rose accessory, and the high-heel strappy shoes are not included. I recommend wearing a better quality shawl as the one included is pretty skimpy.
Women’s Spanish Señorita Fringed Shawl
